Mounted Officer training consists of an eight week departmentally sponsored program instructed by the Mounted Sergeant. The Mounted Sergeant is a level II certified mounted patrol instructor, trained by the American Riding Instructors Association. The unit regularly trains twice a month, often with other mounted police agencies, in addition to continuous on the job training. The unit is often utilized for high profile crowd control situations throughout Morris County and New Jersey.
